BARMBY FURSCOE. Barnsley, Yorkshire. 19th. August, 1805.

An explosion at the colliery resulted in the deaths of seven men. These included John and Mark Teesdale who were brothers and had come from the North of England to sink shafts. The explosion was caused by a naked light coming into contact with the gas.
