PARK. Dewsbury, Yorkshire. 7th. April, 1879.

The colliery was owned by The Park Coal Company and an explosion of firedamp killed five men.

Those who died were:

  • William Jamieson aged 34 years, miner.
  • John Bower aged 39 years, miner.
  • James Haley, miner.
  • Adam Sykes, miner.
  • T. Wooley, miner.
