This was another George Hargreaves & Co. drift which worked the Lower Mountain Mine some 1.2 km north of Grime Bridge. That company employed an average of 47 men underground and 8 on the surface.
As with Grime Bridge the NCB employed slightly fewer men, having 42 men underground and 7 on the surface. The mine closed in March 1954.
