Crossfell Mill – SD71673618
This remote mill was built by the Crossfell Mining Company in 1809 and in 1821 was said to have two ore-hearths. It was still working in 1841, but must have closed soon afterwards and was described as an ‘old smelting mill’ on the first edition 1/10560 OS map.
