Alan Morgan Blackburn died rather suddenly of pneumonia, at Aberystwyth, North Wales, on November 6th, 1929, at the age of 28.

He received his technical training at the Camborne School of Mines in the period from February, 1919, to June, 1921, and on completion of his course obtained an appointment at the San Lucas Mines, Leon, Nicaragua. For several years prior to his death he was employed by Messrs. R.C.N. Robinson & Co., London.

Mr. Blackburn was admitted to Studentship of the Institution in 1922.
