Edward Hemsley Bulman died in Rhodesia in the summer of 1929, at the age of 62.

In 1884 he entered into apprenticeship with Mr. A.L. Steavenson, of Co. Durham, and during the seven years of his Articles obtained a varied experience in collieries and ironstone mines in that district. For two years subsequently, he held responsible positions in Messrs. Bell Brothers’ collieries.

In 1893 he went to South Africa and for nearly thirty years was employed on mines in the Transvaal, after which period he went to Rhodesia. He was for some years with the Rezende, Ltd., at Umtali, and finally with the Cam & Motor mine, Eiffel Flats, Southern Rhodesia.

Mr. Bulman was elected a Member of the Institution in 1904.
