Malcolm Alan Brache was killed in a motor accident in Zambia on 21 July. 1966. He was 29 years of age.

Mr. Brache graduated in Metallurgy at Imperial College in 1958, also gaining the Associateship of the Royal School of Mines. His first post was that of learner mine official with Mufulira Copper Mines. Ltd., with whom he remained until 1961. He then joined the Research Department of Rhodesia Broken Hill Development Co., Ltd.

In 1965 Mr. Brache was appointed filter-process engineer with Eimco (Interafrica), Ltd., Zambia, and was still in the employment of that company when he died.

Mr. Brache was elected to Student Membership of the Institution in 1956.
