Thomas Herbert Bayldon died at M’beya, Tanganyika, Territory, on January 27th, 1939, at the age of 55.
After obtaining Associateship of the Royal School of Mines in 1905, he received the I.M.M. post-graduate scholarship for a year’s course with the Robinson Deep Gold Mining Co. He remained with that company for two years and then occupied various positions on South African mines until 1919. In that year he was appointed manager of the Bushtick Mines, Southern Rhodesia, followed by an engagement with Serenje Concessions.
In 1930 he went to Tanganyika for the Central Mining & Investment Corporation, and about six years later became associated with East Africa Mining Areas, Ltd.
Mr. Bayldon was admitted to Studentship of the Institution in 1904, and transferred to Associateship in 1911 and to Membership in 1920.
