Donald Andrew Campbell died on 1 May 13th, 1912.

In 1893 he entered the Government service in the Ordnance Survey Department and passed through a course of instruction in various branches of that work, and from 1897 to 1901 he acted as surveyor and examiner of ordnance plans for the Department. For the next six years he was surveyor and assistant manager to the Bokitsi Gold Fields, West Africa, subsequently becoming surveyor to the Broomassie Mines, Ltd., Gold Coast.

The year 1908 was spent in Edinburgh, but in 1909 Mr. Campbell returned to the Gold Coast to take up an appointment with the Fanti Consolidated Mines Co., Ltd. From 1910 until the time of his death most of his time was spent in Edinburgh.

Mr. Campbell was elected an Associate of the Institution in 1907.
