George Edward Davis was reported ‘missing and believed wounded’ in the attack on the Hohenzollern Redoubt on October 13th, 1915, but his death could not be presumed until considerably later.

He received his technical training at the Royal School of Mines, passing out with the Associateship in 1912, and in the same year went to Northern Nigeria.

At the outset of the war he enlisted in the Essex Yeomanry.

Mr. Davis was admitted to Studentship of the Institution in 1909.
