John James Dolan was killed in a car accident in the Isle of Man on 18th October; 1957, at the age of 26.

He was born in Ireland and educated in Sligo. He joined Abbeytown Mining Co., Ltd., in January, 1950, and received practical training in assaying and differential flotation, and two years later was appointed assayer and mill superintendent. He left in November, 1955, to take charge of the mill and assay office of Mineral

Treatment Co., Ltd., in Northumberland, and in March, 1957, joined Metalliferous Holdings, Ltd., at Foxdale, Isle of Man, in the capacity of mill superintendent.

Mr. Dolan was elected to Affiliateship of the Institution in 1957.
