Charles James Fauvel died in January, 1912, at the age of 50.

He studied mining engineering under Mr James Tonge, and afterwards went to Africa, where he was engaged for several years in managing mines and opening up properties.

In 1890 he returned to London and established himself as a consulting mining engineer, first at 15, George Street, Mansion House, E.G., and, for several years prior to his death, at Salisbury House, E.G. He was a Fellow of the Geological Society.

Mr. Fouvel was elected a Member of the Institution in 1892.
