Francis Grisewood was reported by the War Office as ‘missing’ since June 30th, 1916. He held a. commission as 2nd Lieutenant in the Royal Sussex Regiment.

He received his technical training at King’s College, London, where he took the engineering course and graduated in metallurgy in 1902. Immediately following the completion of his studies, he went to Australia to enter the employment of the Great Boulder Proprietary Gold Mine, where he remained for about three years. He then proceeded to Ireland as manager of the Leamcon Copper Mine, Co. Cork. In 1911 he was in Spain at the San Jose Mines, Lugo.

He returned to England and on the outbreak of War joined H.M. Forces.

Mr. Grisewood was admitted to Studentship of the Institution in 1902 and was transferred to Associateship in 1907.
