Frank N. Gibbs died in London on December 29th, 1911.

He studied mining and metallurgy at the Royal Military College of Canada, afterwards taking a post-graduate course for one year at the Michigan College of Mines. From 1896 to 1898 he was assayer and subsequently mine superintendent on a gold mine in Canada, and for the two following years held posts as mine superintendent on mines in Carolina and California. From 1900 to 1902 he practised as a consulting engineer at Port Arthur, Luke Superior, and from 1902 to 1908 in the same capacity at Johannesburg and Lourenco Marques.

In 1908 Mr. Gibbs came to England and followed his profession in London until the time of his death.

Mr. Gibbs was elected an Associate of the Institution in 1904.
