Henry Andrew Gordon died at Auckland, New Zealand, on April 80th, 1917, aged 87 years.

He had been engaged in mining and civil engineering in New Zealand since 1854, and for thirteen years held the position of Inspector of Mines for the New Zealand Government. He resigned this post in 1896 and became general manager of the Anglo-Continental Gold Syndicate, Ltd., at Auckland, which appointment he held for several years. For some years after his retirement from the active pursuit of his profession he resided at Epsom, Auckland province.

Mr. Gordon was elected a Member of the Institution in 1899.
