Ernest Reginald Hutt was reported by the War Office as ‘missing’ whilst serving as 2nd Lieutenant in the Royal Scots Fusiliers. He was about 24 years of age at the time of his death.
He had completed his fourth year as a student of the Royal School of Mines just before the outbreak of war. Mr. Hutt was admitted to studentship of the Institution in 1914.
