Herbert Francis Hosking died in February, 1911.

From 1896 to 1901 he was at Camborne School of Mines, for the last two years of the period acting as assistant to the Principal in the Chemical and Metallurgical departments. For eight years from 1901 he was essayer and reduction officer to the Aruba, Gold Concessions, Dutch East Indies, and from then to the date of his death he was engaged on the Spassky Copper Mine, Akmolinsk, Siberia.

Mr. Hosking was elected an Associate of the Institution in 1906.
