Isaac Hodges died in the Transvaal Colony on February 11th, 1925, at the age of 58.

After serving for three years as an articled pupil to the late Mr. Maurice Deacon, at the Manners colliery, llkeston, Derbyshire, he went to South Africa, where for a year and a half he was mine manager of the Cyphergat Coal Co. in Cape Colony, and for 12 months he occupied a similar position with the Durban Roodepoort Gold Mining Co., in the Transvaal.

Returning to England, he was for three years assistant manager of the Blackwell Collieries, Derbyshire, and for upwards of 15 years he was mining engineer to the Whitwood Collieries, Normanton, Leeds. In 1912 he went once more to South Africa, where he died.

Mr. Hodges was elected a Member of the Institution in 1911.
