Duncan Fraser McAulay died at Kalgoorlie, Western Australia, on September 28th, 1935, at the age of 69.

From 1895 to 1901, he was manager of various mines on the East Murchison goldfields, Western Australia, including the East Murchison United, the Donegal, the Waroonga, the Golden Age Consolidated, and the Lake Way Goldfields. In May, 1904, he was appointed superintendent of Peak Hill Goldfield, Ltd., under Messrs. Alexander Hill & Stewart, and in 1908 he became manager of the Cobar Gold Mines, Ltd. Subsequently, he was employed on the Great Boulder Perseverance Mine, and finally by Associated Gold Mines, Ltd., Fimiston.

Mr. McAulay was elected an Associate of the Institution in 1906, and was transferred to Membership in 1908.
