Graham Sim Mottram died at Kuala Lumpur, Federated Malay States, in July, 1941, at the age of 33.

He entered the Camborne School of Mines in January, 1927, and on completion of his received the second-class diploma, he went to the Federated Malay States, where for three years he was employed as assayer to the Pahang Consolidated Co., Ltd. In 1934 he was appointed manager of Pulau Kamiri, Ltd., and in the following year he obtained the position of Government Inspector of Mines, which he still occupied at the time of his death.

Mr. Mottram was admitted to Studentship of the Institution in 1932, and was elected an Associate in 1940.
