John Van der Meulen Moore died at Shipston-on-Stour, Warwickshire, on February 18th, 1941, at the age of 57.

He entered the Royal School of Mines in 1904, and graduated A.R.S.M. in 1907, and on leaving was engaged in surveying and underground work on mines in Bohemia, and as a trammer and sampler on Great Boulder Proprietary and Great Boulder Perseverance & Chaffers, Western Australia.

In 1910 he went to Spain as assistant engineer, and later as underground manager on the New Centenillo silver-lead mines. During the war from 1916 to 1919, he held a commission in the Tunnelling Companies, Royal Engineers, and on demobilization returned to his work in Spain, where he remained until 1936.

Mr. Moore was admitted to Studentship of the Institution in 1905, and was elected an Associate in 1912.
