Sgt. Pilot Peter Robert Shaw Miller, Royal New Zealand Air Force, was killed on flying operations while on active service in May, 1943.

He was 23 years old, and was educated at the Otago Boys’ High School. In 1939 he entered the Otago School of Mines, gaining a Government Mining Scholarship in 1941. Early in 1939, he joined the Territorial Force, and enlisted in the Royal New Zealand Air Force in 1942, when he had completed his mining training. After preliminary Air Force training in New Zealand he went to Canada for more intensive instruction, and was then sent to England.

He was elected to Studentship of the Institution in 1943.
