Benjamin Arthur Nathan died in London on September 16th, 1927, aged 67 years.

He received his technical training at Winterthur, Switzerland, and Charleroi, Belgium, after which he spent two years at the collieries and works of the Société de Couillet, Belgium, and a similar period at Dalglish & Co.’s works at St. Helene, Lancashire, followed by three years with Matheson & Co. in connexion with Rio Tinto and other mines. From thence onward, with the exception of trips to Australia and New Zealand, he devoted most of his energies to the development of quicksilver mining in Italy and acted as consulting engineer to various undertakings.

Mr. Nathan was elected a Member of the Institution in 1898.
