Fawcett Dodson Paisley died at Colombo in the autumn of 1912, aged 26.

He was educated at Christ’s College, Cambridge, where he took an Honours degree in geology, mineralogy and physics. Afterwards he studied at Camborne for two years, and in November, 1910, he obtained an appointment in the Mineral Survey Department of Ceylon, and from that date until his death two years later he resided at Colombo.

Mr. Paisley was admitted to Studentship of the Institution in 1909.
