William Anthony Pritchard died suddenly early in June, 1922.

From 1891 to 1898 he was a student at Stanford University, Cal, U.S.A., in mechanical engineering and geology, obtaining the degree of A.B. in the latter subject. For a short period he was assistant geologist in the U.S. Geological Survey, and he was then appointed assistant superintendent, afterwards superintendent, of the Keystone Consolidated Mining Co., Cal.

In 1902 he went to Western Australia as superintendent of Lake View Consols, Ltd., Kalgoorlie, and in the following year he was appointed joint general manager and consulting engineer to Messrs. Bewick, Moreing & Co., in Kalgoorlie. In subsequent years, his work took him to Mexico and back to California, until in 1916 he became associated with the Oroville Dredging, Ltd. At the date of his death he was manager of the Oroville, Nechi, and Pato mines in Colombia.

Mr. Pritchard was elected a Member of the Institution in 1904.
