Harold George Stanley Robinson died in a mining accident at Obuasi on June 5th, 1913.

On leaving school he spent two years as a pupil at Henderson’s Mining School, Truro, and afterwards studied assaying for several months finder Mr. G.T. Holloway. From 1904 to 1905 he acted as mine surveyor to Messrs. W.F. Simmons, Hodge & Co., of Truro.

In 1907 he entered the service of the Ashanti Goldfields Corporation, Ltd., and remained with that company until the date of his death. He lost his life in the Ayneim Mine, Obuasi, as the result of a fall of rock which killed him, the engineer-in-charge, and six natives, in addition to injuring several others.

Mr. Robinson was admitted to Studentship of the Institution in 1906.
