Algernon Gould Story died at Ipoh, Perak, Federated Malay States, on September 4th, 1932, at the age of 55.

From 1898 to 1908 he was employed in various capacities on gold, tin, and Wolfram mines in North Queensland, and in 1909 went to New Guinea. Later he went to the Federated Malay States, and for a time was working for Messrs. Osborne & Chappel. He had a wide experience of boring, gravel pumping and alluvial mining generally, and held successively the management of Laloki Copper Mine, the Banteng Syndicate (prospecting in Pahang), Selangor Tin, Ltd., and the Kay Yew mine, Perak.

Mr. Story was elected an Associate of the Institution in 1932.
