Carlos Van Zeller died at Lisbon in October 1929.

Portuguese by birth he received his early technical training at Owens College, Manchester from 1889 to 1893, and at Camborne School of Mines, 1893 to 1896. After several years of experience on mines in Portugal, he started business as a mining and civil engineer in Oporto, with an assaying office.

Mr. van Zeller was admitted to Studentship of the Institution in 1895 and was transferred to Associateship in 1900.
