Alfred Williams died in the Federated Malay States on October 10th, 1923, as the result of an attack of malarial fever, in his 29th year.

He received his technical training at the Camborne and Redruth Schools of Mines between the years 1912 and 1919, with a period of war service in 1916-17 which was terminated through the after-effects of an injury received at South Crofty.

In September, 1919, he was appointed assistant mining engineer to the Pahang Consolidated, Ltd., Kuantan, and a year later he was engaged as surveyor by Messrs. Osborne & Chappel, for the Gopeng Consolidated, Ltd., Perak, F.M.S.

Mr. Williams was admitted to Studentship of the Institution in 1921.
