John Warren died in October, 1910.

He had a wide and varied mining experience, and in the course of his career managed a number of mines. In 1862 and 1868 he was with the Atlas Tin Mining Co., Devon, and subsequently, until 1876, with the Hamley and Parramatta. Copper Mining Co., Moonta, South Australia. From 1877 to 1884 he managed the Balacle Copper and Fernhill Gold Mines, New Caledonia, and then transferred his services to the Eureka and Bird-in-Hand Gold Mines, Woodside, South Australia. For about ten years from 1900 he was manager of the Broken Hill Proprietary Block 10 Silver-Lead Mine, New South Wales. For several years previous to his death he resided in Adelaide.

Mr. Warren was elected a Member of the Institution in 1900.
