Leopold Weill died in Paris on April 14th, 1910, at the age of 69.

A Frenchman by birth, he received his technical education at the Ecole des Mines, Paris, and on completion of his course he acquired a varied experience in metallurgy and mining, in France, the Transvaal, Rhodesian, the Gold Coast and Mexico.

He then came to England and was appointed manager of the Royal Mint Refinery and mining engineer to Messrs. N.M. de Rothschild & Sons. In 1917 he returned to Paris, and established himself there as Ingéniour Civil des Mines. He received the distinction of Officer de la Legion d’Honneur.

Mr. Weill was elected a member of the Institution in 1902.
